Chiche Núñez
Chiche Núñez is a student of the renowned dancer and representative of the Villa Urquiza style, José Brahemcha, called "El Turco José" (1931 — 2010), and his other mentor was the well-known dancer from Villa Pueyrredón, Hugo Mozzi, also known as "Nene Fo". Prior to finding his style, he took classes with Sergio Natario and Alejandra Arrué, Fabián Salas, Gustavo Naveira, Graciela Gonzales, Pupi Castello and later Raúl Bravo.
Chiche's dancing is characterized by the finesse of the Urquiza style, as well as his very own, unique dynamic, coming from his constant quest for developing the style to express individuality and contemporariness — a quest in which all the experiences with different Maestros combine and merge. In this pursuit, he finds it crucial to discover and protect common roots of all these structures and techniques.
In 1998 Chiche moved from Buenos Aires to Germany. Here he works as a dancer, choreographer and teacher of Tango Argentino. In Berlin, together with Ester Duarte, he found a new cosmopolitan diversity, which constantly challenges and inspires him as an artist. Nowadays he works regularly in Hamburg and Berlin, and on his path to self-development aims for a steady inspiration, derived not only from tango, but other art forms as well.
Among his most important performances are:
- Berlin Philharmonics (since 2007), Operita "María de Buenos Aires" (Norway Tour, 2007)
- "Tango for Engler" (Kristiansand Symphonic Orchestra,2009)
- "Cafetín del Sur" (Ufa Fabrik, Berlin, 2010)
- And his performances in the most important tango clubs in Buenos Aires, i.e. Sunderland, Canning, Sin Rumbo.
